- How many customers would ever actually need this capability? 1 out of
- 1000? 1 out of 10,000? Going with the simple 2 ID slide switch
- reduced the cost and made for a smaller package.
-
- It's really a non-issue. Any PC with a SCSI controller already installed
- is 99% likely to have one or more HD's at the lower ID's plus a CDROM drive
- and maybe a tape drive. Chances are good any removable would end up at ID
- 5 or 6 anyway.
-
- FWIW it's my understanding that the internal units can be set to any SCSI
- address.

-
- That was then, this is now. I used to run an Amiga BBS off of an A1000
- with only a 30MB drive and it booted from floppy. Irrelevant.

-
- You left out the "and any kind of useful app" part. Windows on our 486
- takes up a bunch more space than that but then I am using WFWG. With the
- few apps that are installed, the 420MB drive is full.
-
- The point is, on a PC, you aren't likely to be able to do anything useful
- after booting from something like the EZ135 or Zip. Removables are not
- normally used as boot devices so their suitability for it isn't an issue.
